Designing rooms with a monochromatic color scheme can be tricky. If done incorrectly, designers are left with dull, lifeless spaces. The all white or cool grey color schemes are trending right now. If you are thinking about redesigning a space like this be aware that it may not be as easy as it looks.
First of all, you must match your colors perfectly to achieve these effortlessly flawless designs. If the colors of your materials are more than a shade off, it will look like you tried but failed. To avoid this, try using a darker hue of the color to create an intended contrast. It’s much easy to pull off.
Second, when creating this type of look, texture is your best friend. Texture can help hide flaws in the space by directing attention toward the object. It also creates interest for the viewer of the space, rather than ending up with a flat, boring space. The cheapest ways to add texture to a bland room are usually rugs, pillows, blankets.
Finally, monochromatic rooms tend to be best executed with minimalist tendencies and rectilinear shapes. That is what gives them the effortless and yet flawlessness. The straight lines and lack of clutter is really what makes these spaces visually appealing. So before deciding to design a space, make sure you plan to de-clutter your home.
